'' The Apennines that rise between the Tuscan sea and the plain of Emilia, breathe the air of Europe and those of the Mediterranean.
The ridge runs on the edge of 2000 meters.
It is a path, suspended between two worlds that in the 4 seasons change, overturn and regenerate colors, emotions, scents and perspectives.
A large part of Italian biodiversity is concentrated here, favored by the contiguity of the European and Mediterranean climatic zones. ... '' cit. www.parcoappennino.it

Having bypassed a gendarme, placed by nature as guarding the entrance to the beech forest, we actually enter the boundary of the Park; a dip in magnificent beech woods, a sip at the Fonte dell'Amore and we arrive at Campaiana, a forest-pastoral settlement active until the last century and now a holiday resort and excellent catering ...
From here, for those who want, the climb continues to the top of the Pania, to be added 2.15 hours of extra walking between the round trip and + 200 m of positive altitude difference, between clearings and woods ... trying to see mouflons and deer ...
